Lead-Based Paint Management  

Brief Descriptions of Each Program

Lead Licensing, Certification and Accreditation Program

The District certifies individuals and business entities to assure that workers:

  • Are trained by an accredited training program
  • Possess appropriate education and/or experience
  • Meet requirements for re-certification
  • Conduct lead-based paint activities in accordance with safe work practice standard
  • Fulfill requirements for a third party examination
  • Review and approve training providers as accredited institutions to train lead workers


Lead Abatement and Permitting Program

  • Provides for the review and issuance of all lead based paint abatement applications and scopes of work
  • Assess of project fees and abatement permits
  • Maintenance of an accurate database of transactions
  • Reviews risk assessment and clearance reports
  • manages service fee funds

Where the design intent is to perform abatement, lead abatement permits and/or notifications are required at least 10 days prior to the proposed activity.
