Green DC Week 2008
GreenDC Week, which will be held from April 21–27, 2008 is a citywide, collaborative effort to educate the people who live, work and learn in the District of Columbia about energy and environmental sustainability. GreenDC Week aims to educate residents about simple yet effective actions that reduce energy consumption and climate change emissions; improve the quality of our air, water and land; and utilize green building principles.

Each day of GreenDC Week will feature a listing of concrete action steps that people can take to make a direct impact on the quality of the environment in Washington, DC. Special attention will be given to suggestions that help reduce the causes of global climate change.
GreenDC Week is designed to engage citizens in service, introduce them to local leaders in sustainability, provide them with actionable knowledge, and encourage them to change environmentally harmful behaviors. GreenDC Week will draw from all segments of the DC community to stress the urgency of environmental stewardship and its implications for energy use, the economy, holistic health and quality of life in this internationally renowned city.
