DOEE is launching a new service to assist businesses interested in improving their sustainability and environmental footprint!

Businesses that complete the questionnaire and choose activities for the Sustainable Business Registry are highlighted in Member Profiles.

Businesses that complete the questionnaire and choose activities for the Sustainable Business Registry are highlighted in Member Profiles.

Requirements:

  • Choose five activities from the Registry list and share information on your activities with DOEE
  • Your business must have a physical office or location in the District
  • DOEE requires that only an Authorized Representative of the company register the facility (i.e., an owner, manager, or designated employee)
  • Have a current DC Business license
  • Your company must be in compliance with all environmental laws.

What Happens Next After Submitting the Registry Form?

  • You will receive a phone call from DOEE.
  • Together, you will review questions and answers with a DOEE staff person.
  • You will be directed to industry-specific tools, resources, and funding opportunities.
  • Complete and report on your five activities.
  • Receive digital and print materials to display at your business location.
  • Your five activities will be made public on the doee.dc.gov website for public viewing under MEMBER PROFILES.
  • Promote your business as a MEMBER of the Sustainable Business Program,

Compliance Check

Once a month, DOEE runs a compliance check on new members.  Once a year, DOEE runs a compliance check on ALL members for any changes in status.  DOEE reserves the right to cancel a business’ MEMBER status for non-compliance.
