NO2 Infrastructure SIP

Notice of Air Quality Public Comment Period and Hearing – NO2 Infrastructure SIP

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. in Room 555 of the District Department of the Environment (DDOE) headquarters at 1200 First Street NE, 5th Floor, in Washington, D.C. 20002. This hearing provides interested parties an opportunity to comment on the proposed revision to the District of Columbia’s (District) State Implementation Plan (SIP), found at 40 C.F.R. Part 52 Subpart J, regarding certain federal Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements under Sections 110(a)(2)(A) to (M). Once the District has completed its procedures, the proposed revisions to the SIP will be submitted to the EPA for approval.

This SIP revision describes how the District is implementing the “infrastructure” elements of the 2010 nitrogen dioxide (NO2) national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS). Once EPA approves the SIP revision, it will provide a federally enforceable written confirmation of how the District will continue to comply with the §110(a)(2) requirements of the CAA for nitrogen dioxide.

Copies of the proposed SIP revision are attached below and are also available for public review during normal business hours at DDOE headquarters.

Interested parties wishing to testify at this hearing must submit, in writing, their name, address, telephone number and affiliation to Mr. William Bolden at the DDOE address above or at [email protected] by 4:00 p.m. on May 19, 2014. Interested parties may also submit written comments or questions to AQD’s Monitoring and Assessment Branch at the same address or by email to Ms. Jessica Daniels at [email protected] or by phone at 202-741-0862; or to Mr. Rama S. Tangirala at [email protected] or at 202-535-2989. No comments will be accepted after May 19, 2014.
