FEMA reviewed their FIRMs (Flood Maps) for DC from 1985 and made revisions that became effective on 27 September 2010. Prior to that date, several letters were sent by the Director of DDOE to property owners in parts of DC most likely to be affected by the changes. Included in the letters were recommended actions for property owners to take and some general guidance on flood insurance. These letters can be viewed by following the links below:
