The installation, upgrade, and operation of any petroleum UST (>110 gallons) or hazardous substance UST System, including heating oil tanks over 1,100 gallons capacity in the District require a permit from DCRA, in addition to the approval and inspection of the UST Branch, DDOE, and DC Fire Department. The tank performance standards and permitting requirements in 20 DCMR Chapters 55-70 shall apply.
