DDOE Announces $150,000 of Funding Available for Pollution Reduction Efforts

Grants available for strategy development to guide fleets in the District of Columbia toward greater fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions

WASHINGTON, DC – July 15, 2015 — The District Department of the Environment (DDOE) announced this week that it seeks entities to assist in the completion of its Greening the Fleet initiative. The goals of this project are to reduce air pollution, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve the health of the District’s residents, increase fuel diversification, and improve fleet fuel efficiency. The funding made available through this grant is $150,000. This amount is subject to continuing availability and approval by the appropriate agencies. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, universities, educational institutions, and private enterprises.

- Write DDOE at 1200 First Street NE, 5th Floor, Washington, DC 20002, “Attn: Charles Satterfield RE: 2015-1513-DIR” on the outside of the envelope.

The deadline for application submissions is August 10, 2015, at 4:30 pm. Submit five hard copies to the above mailing address and one electronic copy, complete with all attachments, to [email protected]. For further information, write [email protected].
