Energy Workshops

The District Department of the Environment operates FREE energy workshops to teach consumers "How to Install Energy Saving Measures," the low-cost way. These workshops help offset rising energy costs and assist the interest in "do-it-yourself" techniques
The workshops will be held at the DDOE Energy Office, located at 2100 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., SE. All DC residents are welcome to attend! The Energy Office also performs energy workshops for schools, churches and community groups by request.
Residents will see demonstrations of how to install caulking, weather-stripping for doors and windows, door-sweeps, checking and changing furnace filters and more. Suggestions on easy ways to change energy related behavior and lower consumption will be given. Tips on how to conserve gasoline will also be presented. With the recent occurrence of devastating hurricanes, energy supply and higher prices are affecting everyone. The workshop will show easy methods for lowering energy use and provide an Energy Efficiency Kit to participants.
